Spatial truth is most valuable when it can carry forward into scope, quantities, decisions, shopping, contractor exchange, execution, and reconciliation without becoming detached from its evidence.
THE THESIS
TotalSquare began by treating measurement as the beginning of a project system rather than the end of a measuring tool.
THE HARD PART
Home projects repeatedly throw away context they already paid to create.
A room gets measured, then measured again for quantities, then described again for a quote, then translated again into shopping, then interpreted again during execution. Each handoff creates room for drift. The product problem is to preserve spatial truth and evidence while allowing the project to become richer and more specific downstream.
THREE PRODUCT DECISIONS
The architecture follows the distinction you refuse to erase.
Current before proposed.
The home as it exists and the project as imagined are different states. TotalSquare keeps them separate so a design choice cannot quietly rewrite reality.
Quantities need lineage.
A number becomes useful when the product can explain what space, scope, opening, surface, assumption, or project state produced it. Evidence follows the quantity instead of disappearing after calculation.
Carry the decision downstream.
Planning, shopping, quotes, purchasing, contractor exchange, and execution should inherit the same project context rather than rebuilding it in disconnected tools.
THE SYSTEM SHAPE
The project is a chain of decisions, not a stack of screens.
TotalSquare is structured so each stage can add information without erasing what came before. That makes the system useful for asking not just how large a room is, but what a proposed change requires and what evidence supports the answer.

THE BOUNDARY
A project plan is not an as-built record.
TotalSquare can carry proposed change, execution evidence, and reconciliation toward the durable home record, but the website does not claim that planned or purchased work automatically becomes canonical property truth. Reality still has to earn that transition.
